Airbnb’s Policy Media Team commissioned a narrative-driven digital campaign designed to highlight the relationship between hosts and a new generation of travelers.
The project followed a group of Gen Z guests exploring Northern California’s Redwoods, paired with a local host whose story anchored the campaign.
The objective was to create a suite of emotionally resonant, culturally relevant content that could perform across digital ad placements while reinforcing Airbnb’s brand values around belonging, inclusivity, and nature-based travel.
RESULTS
The project was approached as a hybrid between documentary storytelling and performance-driven advertising. Working closely with Airbnb’s executive production team, the creative direction focused on capturing authentic interactions between host and guests while maintaining a structured narrative arc suitable for paid digital distribution. Production required a lean, fast-moving crew operating across multiple locations, balancing cinematic quality with agility and adaptability under tight timelines. Visual storytelling emphasized natural light, environmental immersion, and human connection to create a grounded and relatable tone aligned with Airbnb’s brand identity.
